Hi,
I have a neighbor about 700 feet to the south of me. He has a bunch of AM rigs and an amp putting out about 500-600 watts. He mostly operates on 40M in the AM portion of that band.
When he is on the air, 40M is unusable! I have turned off all pre-amps, ATT on, filters as narrow as possible (and still hear stations). IP+ on, etc. I am guessing that the ADC is overloaded (or some other stage). Whats more, 60M, 30M, AND 20M are also getting overloaded when he is transmitting. I can hear the overload on these bands pretty easily and the waterfall on the panadapter pumps up and down. Other radios, I have owned (Flex, Elecraft, Kenwood) have had NO issues with my neighbor. I could operate on 40M weak signals like JT65/9 were not an issue on 40M either.
Can you suggest any settings on the 7300 I can implement to mitigate this issue and allow me to operate while my neighbor is on the air? Or, am I going to be stuck "time sharing" HF with him?
I can record some audio and video the next time his is operating if necessary

ICOM's response and then my question:
Hi Randy,
Thank you for contacting Icom America.
Unfortunately given the extremely harsh operating environment you are forced to operate in the IC-7410 with the optional roofing filters or one of the higher end rigs will likely be required. You could try a pre-selector with the IC-7300
