Заявих участието си вчера почти в последния момент

Dear Sirs,

I intend to enter the new Extreme category for the upcoming CQWW SSB contest next week. I will use Internet controlled remote station using Ham Radio Deluxe to control the transceiver (FT-857), IP Sound for audio transfer, home made audio interface and home made Ethernet controller for turning on/off radio and computer. In general I will work 220 kms away from my shack location where my radio and antennas are.

*Brief description:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
**Tranceiver:* FT-857, Dunax GPN4B vertical antenna, LDG automatic antenna tuner, CAT interface, home made audio interface.
*Software:* Ham Radio Deluxe (for remote control), IP Sound (voip application for audio transfer through internet), Skype (for viewing the web camera and radio display)
*Other hardware:* home made Ethernet controller for turning on/off the computer and the radio, and switching the HF and 6m antennas
*Internet connection: *10 Mbps on the workstation and 20 MBps on the server computer which controls the radio through CAT interface.

This kind of operation is permitted in Bulgaria and I have a lot of QSOs (both DIG and Phone) already.

5. Advance notification:
Entrants must notify the CQ WW Contest Committee by e-mail at least one week in advance of the contest of their intention to enter this category. This notification should include a brief description of the technologies to be employed and callsign to be used. Entrants must also attest that their planned operation is compliant with the rules and regulations of the country in which the transmitter(s) are located. Advance notification and questions regarding these rules should be sent via e-mail to <xtreme@cqww.com>.

Информацията за тази категория не знам защо я публикуват в септеврийския брой на CQ, заедно с CW резултатите, но явно в Xtreme категорията не делят на CW и SSB. Щом и мен споменават, значи не е имало кой знае колко участници

The new Xtreme category was introduced in 2009, as a way of allowing
stations to use Internet connectivity to link multiple sites, both
receiving and transmitting. The number of entries was small, but met
the expectations of the Committee. After computing the CQWW score, and
normalizing it to other entrants in the category, and a careful review
of the station descriptions, the winners are multi-site station B1Z in
the Multi-operator category with 147 out of a possible 200 points, and
OL5Q (OK1HRA, opr.) in the Single-operator category with 149 points.
Honorable mentions are due LZ2NKM, who has crafted an outstanding
remote station using a good deal of home-brew interface hardware, and
NP2KW, who attempted an operation using multiple remote operators but
suffered network problems and was forced to enter as a single-op
station. We look forward to a growing number of entries in this
category in the coming years.
