39th Marconi Memorial Contest VHF IARU Region 1
PARTICIPANTS: All radio amateurs with regular permit to transmit. Participants have to operate in compliance with the
rules and the spirit of the contest using an output power not greater than that permitted by their country license.
2) SECTIONS: There are 2 categories
SINGLE OPERATOR: Stations operated by one only radio amateur for entire period of the contest. (No club stations)
MULTI OPERATOR: All other entrants.
A station must operate from the same site for all the contest time.
3) CONTACTS: Each station can be worked only once, whether fixed, portable or mobile. The double qso must be marked
and identified on the log and the score awarded will be zero. Contacts made via repeaters or EME will not be valid.
4) BAND and MODE: QSO must be only 2-way on A1A (CW) mode on 144 MHz band only, by following and respecting
the IARU Reg. 1 Band Plan.
5) EXCHANGES: The stations have to send the RST and Serial Number starting with 001, followed by the full WW locator
(Example: 599023 JN65RW).
6)SCORE: One point will be charged for each kilometre in the qrb of the qso.. The final score obtained should be indicated
in your log..
7) LOG: Logs will be accepted only in electronic format. The logs must be submitted with all complete data summaries, by
email, only in .EDI format, and the file will be named with your callsign (eg. IV3SIX.EDI)
8 ) ENTRIES : Logs must be sent only to the national VHF Manager or National Contest Manager, postmarked not later than
the second Monday following the contest weekend. Late entries will not be accepted. The submission of the logs implies
that the entrant accepts all the IARU contest rules. Photos, comments and remarks about the contest will be appreciated
and they will be published on internet and magazines.
All national managers have to send all collected logs to iv3six@tin.it not later than December 31st 2011.
9) JUDGING OF ENTRIES : The judging of entries is carried out by the MMC Contest Committee, whose decision shall
be final, participants can ask information about errors. Entrants deliberately contravening any of the rules of flagrantly
disregarding the IARU Region 1 band plans shall be disqualified. Minor errors may result in loss of points. Errors in the
callsign and contest exchanges will be penalised by deducting the score claimed for the pertaining contact.
The Contest Manager could put the participants as control log if he will find false qso; it will be cancelled also incomplete
qso or with missing information or with a delay time more than 10 minutes.
10) AWARDS : The 3 (three) top scores of each section will be prized.
